Pilgrimage in the footsteps of Saint Otto
Eight kilometers in four hours? - That should be manageable. And so 13 participants met at the monastery ruins in Stolpe on August 15, 2024.
The organizing team had prepared a booklet with five stations. Historical information about Saint Otto – meditative texts – songs (some with YouTube organ accompaniment) and prayer provided new impulses at each station. Nevertheless, there was still time to get to know each other along the way. It was interesting to see how the individuals found out about the hike: a Polish family had learned about it through a cross-border online platform, so Dobiesław came from Szczecin with two daughters and dog Bobbi. Participants from Stralsund and Feldberg were there thanks to Radio Ostseewelle and the Nordkurier newspaper. Strangers quickly became a harmonious and friendly community on the road.
It was also great that we were allowed into the churches of Stolpe and Grüttow!
Many thanks to the group leader who had prepared this day and made it possible for us to have such a wonderful experience – by the way, mosquito-free!!
