Gratitude
Northward
The path leads north, the circle closes. The sun never appears in the north. We know the dark winter time, it is the time for storytelling. Stories have the power to look at things from different perspectives. Sometimes it is only in retrospect that we can see the big picture, new opportunities or our own development that have arisen from crises or defeats.
Maybe you will share your story today. What makes you grateful? The path can invite you to marvel at small and large wonders in all seasons. Gratitude is an easy way to make your life happier. Have fun with it.
Features
This circular route offers wide views over the gently undulating landscape with its many meadows, fields and pastures. The route is partly lined with ditches and also leads through mixed forests.
Directions
From the Jager chapel, walk to the district road (K19), then turn right and follow the road to the forest path on the left just before the railroad crossing (between the first and second beacons). Follow this path through the forest, turn right at the first T-junction (depending on the vegetation, it may be difficult to see) and follow the path.
Variant
If you want to shorten the route, turn left at this T-junction through a red and white barrier. The forest path leads straight ahead for about 1 km and continue straight ahead at the next forest path junction with the sign “Rettungspunkt”. This is where the variant joins the route.
Behind the T-junction at a forest crossroads with a departmental stone, continue straight ahead until you reach the asphalt road behind the forest. Turn left here, initially along the edge of the forest, through a district of “Jeeser”, and later over slight hills with wild meadows and agricultural land to the “Mannhagen” sign.
In Mannhagen, after the town sign, continue straight ahead. When the main road turns right, the tour turns left. At the bend, there is a yellow and black private mailbox with the number 21. Follow the paved path to the left here. Follow the path for about 3 km with several bends. Windmills line the path on the right, on the left light forest and meadows, then the landscape opens up and allows space for a wide view. At a T-junction (from here you can see the houses of “Segebadenhau” in the distance), turn left. From here on, the Rienegraben accompanies the Plattenweg on the right. At the signpost, continue in the direction of “Heidberg” and “Bahnhof Jeeser”. Soon after, the path continues to the right of the Rienegraben until you reach a weir with a blue handrail. Here, a red bench is available for a break.
After the break, turn left over the Rienegraben and directly past the former forester's lodge into the forest. At the first junction, keep to the right, go straight ahead at the crossroads, and continue to the crossroads with a sign for “Rettungspunkt”.
This is where the tour and the variant reunite.
