Confidence
Out and about in the forest
Do you know the feeling of having so much planned, wonderful tasks that would actually be quite easy to accomplish? And then something always comes up, ease turns to heaviness, doubts arise and paralyze you in your plans.
With this Bible verse, it is also worth taking a look at the book to read on, because God reminds you that he has prepared a place for you.
On this path, the direction is clear and it is almost straight ahead until there is a turning point at some point. You can take this path with calmness and composure. But sometimes a special energy arises from weighing things up. So what speaks for the straight path? Do you know such detours? Perhaps they have led to new insights for you. And maybe you will meet the angel who will watch over you wherever you go.
Features
The circular route mainly goes through the forest and is particularly recommended on hot days. The way back is mostly the Via Baltica, the Way of St. James, which comes from the Baltic States and runs through northern Germany to join the large network of Way of St. James routes towards Santiago de Compostela.
Directions
The starting point is the chapel in Jager. Turn away from the district road (K19) and continue straight ahead along the village road, which then becomes a dirt road behind the new GDR building. At the first turnoff, turn left onto a path (also known as the 'Stadtweg' among locals), which initially runs along the field and then enters the forest.
In the forest, the path leads to a crossroads with a total of six paths. Take the middle one, leaving two paths on your right and two on your left. The path is inconspicuous, but has a red and white barrier. Now continue straight ahead, crossing an asphalt road and continuing straight ahead along the forest path. Follow the large right-hand bend and turn right again at the next opportunity, continuing straight ahead along a longer section of the forest path. Turn left at the next asphalt road and continue for about 600 meters until you reach the “Steffenshagen” sign. The Via Baltica branches off to the right directly behind it; from this point on, the route is marked with a scallop shell and/or yellow arrows.
The Via Baltica runs here on the former railroad embankment between Greifswald and Grimmen. After the forest thins out, you reach some houses of “Klein Petershagen” (without a place name sign). About 1 km after “Klein Petershagen”, a path branches off to the right with the sign “Jager”. Turn here and walk straight into Jager.
In the village, the first road on the right leads to the pilgrims' hostel, while straight ahead you will reach the chapel, the starting point of this circular route.
Variant
If you want to take a shorter circular route, you can turn right at the second opportunity in the forest.
To make sure you take the right turnoff: on the main path, there is a forestry division stone, also known as a Jagenstein, on the left-hand side of the path. The path on the right has a red and white barrier.
